Should my surgeon have privileges at a local hospital?Yes! Only choose to have your surgery performed in an accredited surgical facility or an accredited local hospital. Where does Dr. Rodriguez perform her surgical procedures?Dr. Rodriguez performs all of her surgeries in an accredited medical facility or hospital. She is currently on staff at St. John Hospital, St. John Surgery Center, Bon Secours Hospital, Cottage Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and Lapeer Hospital. How do I pay for my procedure?Dr. Rodriguez accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Cash, Check and CareCredit Financing. What should I do to prepare for my procedure?It is imperative to STOP smoking if you are a smoker at least two weeks prior to your surgery. Also, do not take any aspirin, aspirin products, arthritis medications, blood thinners, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or herbal supplements. You will receive a detailed list of medications to avoid at your office visit. Is Dr. Rodriguez board-certified?Yes! She is board-certified by The American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Board members of the ASPS are trained SPECIFICALLY IN PLASTIC SURGERY. They operate only in accredited medical facilities and hospitals. Members adhere to a strict code of ethics and fulfill continuing education requirements, including patient safety techniques. Unfortunately, many physicians call themselves board certified, but there are many different kinds of boards. The American Board of Plastic Surgery or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada are the boards that require physicians to pass comprehensive oral and written exams as well as a requirement to have graduated from an accredited medical school. Members also complete a minimum of five years of surgical training following medical school, including an accredited plastic surgery residency program. Plastic surgeons are trained to perform both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Does Dr. Rodriguez work with out-of-town patients?Yes, quite often. It is very common for a patient to fly in to have surgery by her that does not live here in Michigan. As long as they stay until she feels it is completely safe for them to return back home. That could be anywhere from two days to a few weeks depending upon the surgery performed. Does Dr. Rodriguez speak multiple languages?Dr. Rodriguez is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. What procedures are covered by insurance?Insurance companies do not cover cosmetic procedures, but most insurance companies cover procedures that are deemed medically necessary.
